Block Island is a full-day trip that starts with the ferry ride from Point Judith. Once you arrive, most visitors rent bikes, mopeds, or jeeps to get around. The island loop is manageable in a day with stops along the way.

Popular stops include Mohegan Bluffs, where a long staircase leads down to the beach, and the Southeast Lighthouse just above it. Crescent Beach near Old Harbor is the easiest beach to access if you want to stay close to town. For something quieter, head toward the northern end of the island.

Old Harbor has restaurants, shops, bike rentals, and places to grab ice cream or a bite to eat. You can keep the day simple by staying near town, or cover more ground if you rent a vehicle. Ferry tickets sell out quickly in summer, so it is worth booking in advance and catching an early boat over.
